India "Over cautious" Dalai Lama

Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama on Wednesday said the Indian government was a "little over-cautious" on the Tibet issue but the Tibetan refugees here enjoyed sympathy of the government and the public.

"I have always looked India from a holistic view. There is some incident here, there. They are a little over-cautious, well it does not matter," he said.
"But that is understandable," he said. Recalling that late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had laid down policies for Tibetan refugee communities, he said that "no matter what government is at the Centre... whether it is Janata Party or Congress party it has remained the same. We have received help and sympathy from Indian public as well as from the government".
