Indian stock market on 7th feb
The European markets were trading weak. It was a bad day for the Indian market. Poor volumes continued to plague the market with selling pressure at higher levels. Sensex and Nifty closed at the day's low today. Sensex closed at 17526, down 612 points and Nifty at 5133, down 189 points from the previous close.
The CNX Midcaps Index was down 2.6% and BSE Smallcaps Index was down 2%. The BSE Metal Index was down 4%, BSE Realty Index down by 3.6% and BSE Bankex and BSE IT Index both down by 2.8%. The market breadth was negative with advances at 233 against declines of 986 on the NSE. Top Nifty gainers included ACC and Glaxo while losers included Unitech, Reliance Industries, VSNL and PNB. » Send to friends
