MDMK NOT CONTESTING FOR RAJYA SABHA

In an unexpected turnaround of events, the MDMK on Thursday declined to contest the Rajya Sabha elections in the seat offered by the AIADMK.

While thanking AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa for offering an RS seat to the MDMK, the party's general secretary Vaiko announced that the decision to keep away from the RS elections was taken after the issue was discussed at the meeting of MDMK parliamentary board.
