Cheaper Laptops for Students In TN
Uma Shankar, Managing Director, ELCOT, said that "notebook computers" will be provided to one lakh students in the state at a cost of below Rs 20,000 each this year.
Speaking at the 8th edition of "Connect Coimbatore 2008" jointly organised by CII, ELCOT and STPI in the city on Friday, he said that making available small laptops (notebook computers) at a cheaper cost was necessary to ensure that the technology reach out to students from low income families.
