Although elections are due next year, Congress MPs said she has given a clear call for preparation to face the polls and to take the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government's achievements to the people.
Addressing the Congress parliamentary party meeting, Gandhi said in the parliament house that the party has to go for elections "with an outstanding record of achievements".
According to MPs who attended the meeting, Gandhi said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's speech in parliament last week has given a new zeal to the partymen and would inspire them.
